Update:  Big FAT Break is now on Facebook and you can be a fan!

Hi.  I’m Clarabelle.  I’ve put on 30 lbs over the past year for this blog.  I know, you’re wondering, “How did she do it?!”

Check this out:  I did it by consuming more food than my body needed.  And I became less active.

Shocking, isn’t it?  Who knew?

Now it’s time to take this unecessary weight off.  I’ll chronicle my descent back to slimville here.  So you can see how uncomplicated this weight loss thing really is.  There isn’t a “trick” to it.  For most people, there’s no secret; no magic.  Unless you have extenuating circumstances or a medical condition that prevents average food production and weight gain/loss, then you can do it too.  (If you want to.)

PLEASE NOTE:  I’m not “anti-fat”.  To anyone who enjoys being plump, I say:  more power to you.  When I write that “you can do it too” (lose weight) this is directed only towards the people out there who are saying repeatedly that they ”wish” they could lose weight and who are feeling miserable about extra lbs. they’re carrying around.   Aside from some potential health risks, I don’t think fat is so bad.  I don’t think it’s the enemy, or shameful, or any of that other crap.

I do, however, feel that if people really truly do want to lose weight, for the majority there is no “secret” formula to making it happen.  To anyone who suggests to me that there’s some big secret, I say:  Gimme a big FAT break!  If we consume more of the foods that fuel our bodies healthfully, less of the foods that our bodies don’t need – and just move more – extra lbs come off, whether we want them to or not.  They just DO.  It doesn’t take heroic efforts.  It takes a decision.  And then small little actions that honestly support that decision.

Sincerely,
Clarabelle
